Automatic Transfer Switch - Data Center
An automatic or manual transfer switch is a crucial component in electrical systems, providing a seamless transition between power sources during an outage or when switching between different power sources. Its primary function is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical loads such as data centers, hospitals, or emergency systems.
In the case of an automatic transfer switch (ATS), it continuously monitors the availability and quality of the primary power source. If any issues or abnormalities are detected, such as a power outage or voltage drop, the ATS automatically transfers the load to an alternate power source, such as a backup generator or an alternate power grid.
