UPS Battery Replacement Services – Key Scope of Works

Treske provides a complete, managed UPS battery replacement service using our in-house licensed electricians and dedicated project management resources, helping ensure battery replacement works are completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to critical operations.

Key Scope of Works

  • Site Assessment & Planning – Review the existing UPS system, battery configuration, installation environment, access requirements and operational constraints.
  • Battery Condition Review – Assess existing battery age, condition, configuration and available historical maintenance/test information.
  • Project Management – Coordinate scheduling, site access, safety documentation, equipment, battery logistics and customer communication from planning through to completion.
  • Electrical Works – Works undertaken by appropriately licensed electrical personnel, including isolation requirements and electrical connections associated with the battery replacement.
  • UPS & Battery Isolation – Establish an appropriate replacement methodology based on the UPS configuration and site requirements, including bypass or isolation procedures where required.
  • Battery Removal & Replacement – Safe removal of existing battery blocks and installation of new batteries in accordance with manufacturer requirements and approved procedures.
  • Battery Inspection & Testing – Check individual battery voltage, connections, polarity, physical condition and battery string configuration.
  • Torque Verification – Battery terminals and interconnections checked and torqued to the applicable manufacturer's requirements.
  • UPS Configuration – Review and update battery-related UPS parameters where applicable, including battery capacity, number of strings and replacement/installation date.
  • Functional Testing – Return the UPS and battery system to normal operation and verify correct UPS operation, charging status and absence of battery-related alarms.
  • Commissioning & Reporting – Provide completion documentation recording battery details, test results, observations and works undertaken.
  • Asset Management – Record replacement battery information, installation dates and relevant asset details within the asset management and maintenance records.
  • Responsible Battery Disposal – Remove replaced batteries from site and arrange recycling/disposal through an appropriate battery recycling process.
  • Ongoing Maintenance – Establish the new battery installation as part of the preventative maintenance program, where applicable, to monitor condition throughout its service life.
